What Is The Best Reciver And Speakers On The Market Right Now? It Will Be Used For Music And Home Theater?

Looking for good name brand stuff....in the 3000 to 4000 grand price range.

There are just tons of good home theater systems in that price range. Whatever you do do not go with a bose system. Apart from good looks it just doesn't deliver the sound quality at the price you pay for it. For receivers you can get Denon, Yamaha, Pioneer, Onkyo. All of these have good receivers in the $1000 to $1500 price range. I personally prefer Denon and Yamaha.

For speakers, it gets much hairy. Do you have to go with small satellite speakers because of room-decor restrictions or you can go with floor standing ones (at least for the front speakers). If you can get floor standing speakers you will definitely get much better sound quality out of them at the same price. I don't know what you consider as a name brand, but if you are talking about sony, panasonic etc, none of them make good speakers in this price range (they are much more low end in the price range of <$500). Also you would be much better off buying online (if you are comfortable doing that) than buying in a local store. Local stores have much limited choices and charge you twice as much for the same thing that you can buy online.
One good company for small speakers is axiom. Search them on the net. Another cheaper option which good reviews is Fluance. Send me a PM with your specific requirements and I can give you more/better options.
