no u will need a long living room and there is not many movies with 7.1 stay with 5.1 and get a system were u can listen to your music and movies the way u like it

Assuming you’re in a rectangular room which is set up normally, the center should be directly underneath or above the television. The left and right speakers should be placed immediately to the left and right of the television angled towards you. The left surround and right surround should be diffused speakers which are placed about 100 degrees from where the center of the screen is from where the listener is sitting on each side. The left back surround and right back surround should be placed immediately next to each other behind the listener in the center. The subwoofer ideally should be placed in the center, though bass is omnidirectional.
