Do You Need New Speaker For Dolby True-HD Or DTS Master Audio?

I bought a new high-definition tv, along with a new AV Receiver with HDMI inputs and True-HD and DTS Master decoding.

I thought about the speakers and they are about 12 years old, discontinued Kenwood Home Audio speakers. I did some research and I'm a bit confused on the frequency responses and stuff.

Thanks

You need a Blu-ray player connected by HDMI cable to receiver.

You don’t need new speakers, but to take advantage of multichannel audio, you would want 6 or maybe 8 total speakers: Main Front Right/Left, Center, Rear Surround Right/Left, Rear Back Surround Right/Left and at least 1subwoofer.

No those speaks will work, but you wont get the full effect and crispness of DTS HD Master Audio. Newer high end home theatre speakes would sound alot better and compliment with your new purchase.
Dolby Tru HD and DTS HD Master Audio mean 100% lossless uncompressed audio.
