What Are Some Good Websites To Get Information About Home Theater Equipment?
I am finishing my basement and looking to add good components and speakers. I am not looking for the best stuff, I just want high quality. Any recommendations of components or speakers are appreciated. Websites with great info are also helpful.
Thanks,

Denon or Yamaha are the two better mid-level brand AVRs. I prefer Denon but many will make a good argument for Yamaha. Onkyo is a bit less expensive and also a very good choice for receivers.
Speakers are too subjective to really give advice on but I would check out
Energy Classic series
Klipsch
Boston Acoustics
Polk
Definitive Technology
Buy an inexpensive (but name brand) DVD player. They will be replaced by bluray in the near future so I wouldn't buy an expensive one now.
Tvs
Pioneer or Panasonic plasma
Sharp aquos LCD, Sony LCD, or Toshiba

In speakers, I like Infinity, and there are some great deals to be had on their being-discontinued line of Beta speakers. From Beta 50 and 40 tower speakers, and Beta 10 and 20 bookshelf speakers, plus either C250 or C360 centre speakers, you can find some great equipment for great prices, but you have to move fast. A couple of sellers that I would recommend for this gear would be Vanns and BPAV. Both also offer some gear with free in US shipping, and a pair of speakers from that line that I ordered from BPAV shipped the same day as the order was placed.
And, I can tell you that the Beta 50 tower speakers sound GREAT.
In receivers, there are many good brands, from Pioneer to Harmon Kardon. Again, those sites, and amazon can steer you to some good info.

Here are a couple forums that have some good information. As always take anything you hear with a grain of salt and check it out for yourself. With some experience you should be able to tell if a particular poster knows what they are talking about or not. One of my favorites is http://www.hometheatershack.com and another is http://www.avsforum.com.
