Home Audio Speakers In A Car?

February 19th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

I'm looking to add a little more sound to my old 91 Plymouth sundance, cheaply of course as i am a student. I saw someone online just get a cigarette lighter converter and plug a home stereo system into it. I would be fine with doing this, but i was wondering if it would put too much of a strain on the cars battery? I would unplug the converter from the cigarette lighter each time i left the car.

I say if you get cheap stuffs, expect cheap results...
This might help you out of what to do...

If your headlight dims with the bass notes, the “BIG 3” might work. If not an H.O. alternator will be needed, or else be prepared to pour a lot of $$$ for batteries.

This site explains the "BIG 3" upgrades.

You would be better off just going to Wall Mart buying some inexpensive speakers and a new head unit and installing it yourself may even be cheaper in the long run…
